【摘要】:1.1Thispracticeprovidesthealgorithmsandcalculationmethodologiesforpredictingtheheatlossorgainandsurfacetemperaturesofcertainthermalinsulationsystemsthatcanattainonedimensional,steady-orquasi-steady-stateheattransferconditionsinfieldoperations.1.2Thispracticeisbasedontheassumptionthatthethermalinsulationsystemscanbewelldefinedinrectangular,cylindricalorsphericalcoordinatesystemsandthattheinsulationsystemsarecomposedofhomogeneous,uniformlydimensionedmaterialsthatreduceheatflowbetweentwodifferenttemperatureconditions.1.3Qualifiedpersonnelfamiliarwithinsulation-systemsdesignandanalysisshouldresolvetheapplicabilityofthemethodologiestorealsystems.Therangeandqualityofthephysicalandthermalpropertydataofthematerialscomprisingthethermalinsulationsystemlimitthecalculationaccuracy.Personsusingthispracticemusthaveaknowledgeofthepracticalapplicationofheattransfertheoryrelatingtothermalinsulationmaterialsandsystems.1.4ThecomputerprogramthatcanbegeneratedfromthealgorithmsandcomputationalmethodologiesdefinedinthispracticeisdescribedinSectionofthispractice.Thecomputerprogramisintendedforflatslab,pipeandhollowsphereinsulationsystems.AnexecutableversionofaprogrambasedonthisstandardmaybeobtainedfromASTM.1.5Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
