【摘要】:Mostfacilitiesdisposingorutilizingwastematerialsareprohibitedfromhandlingwastesthatcontainradioactivematerials.Thistestmethodprovidestheuserarapidmethodforscreeningwastematerialsamplesinthefieldorlaboratoryforthepresenceorabsenceofradioactivityatuser-establishedcriteria.Itisimportanttothesefacilitiestobeabletoverifygenerator-suppliedinformationthatradioactiveormixedwasteshavenotbeenincludedinshipmentsofwastematerials.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthescreeningforx03B1;x2013;,x03B2;x2013;,andx03B3;radiationaboveambientbackgroundlevelsoruser-definedcriteria,orboth,inliquid,sludge,orsolidwastematerials.1.2Thistestmethodisintendedtobeagrossscreeningmethodfordeterminingthepresenceorabsenceofradioactivematerialsinliquid,sludge,orsolidwastematerials.Itisnotintendedtoreplacemoresophisticatedquantitativeanalyticaltechniques,buttoprovideamethodforrapidlyscreeningsamplesforradioactivityaboveambientbackgroundlevelsoruser-definedcriteria,orboth,forfacilitiesprohibitedfromhandlingradioactivewaste.1.3Thistestmethodmaynotbesuitableforapplicationssuchassiteassessmentsandremediationactivities.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
