【摘要】:Thepurposeofthisclassificationsystemistoprovideamethodofidentifyingadhesivesinordertogiveindustryasystemthatcanbeuseduniversallyformaterials.Itfurtherprovidesameansforspecifyingthesematerialsbytheuseofthestandardsthataredevelopedusingthisguide.Thisclassificationsystemwasdevelopedtopermittheadditionoffutureadhesives.1.1Thisguideprovidesaclassificationsystemfortabulatingthepropertiesofadhesivessuitableforholdingpartsorassembliestogether.Theuseofthisguidealsoprovidesinformationnecessaryforthedevelopmentofstandardspecificationsforadhesives.Note1Thisclassificationsystemmayservemanyoftheneedsofindustriesusingadhesives.Thisguideissubjecttorevisionastheneedrequires;therefore,thelatestrevisionshouldalwaysbeused.1.2LimitationsThisclassificationsystemisintendedtobeameansofidentifyingadhesives.Itisnotintendedfortheselectionofmaterials.Materialselectionshouldbemadebythosehavingexpertiseintheadhesivesfieldaftercarefulconsiderationofthedesignandtheperformancerequiredofthepart,theenvironmenttowhichitwillbeexposed,theattachmentprocesstobeemployed,theinherentpropertiesofthematerialnotcoveredinthisdocument,andtheeconomicfactors.1.3Thisclassificationsystemisbasedonthepremisethatadhesivescanbearrangedintobroadgenericfamiliesusingbasicpropertiestoarrangethematerialsintogroups,classes,andgrades.1.4InallcaseswheretheprovisionsofthisclassificationsystemwouldconflictwiththereferencedASTMspecificationforaparticularmaterial,thelattershalltakeprecedence.1.5ThevaluesstatedinSIunits,asdetailedinIEEE/ASTMSI10,aretoberegardedasthestandard.
